So I took a last look through my dissertation guidelines today and read this line:

"This is a maximum of 15,000 words (including footnotes/endnotes, appendices and bibliography)"

Damn.

I hadn't included my bibliography in my word count.  So now I have about 500 more words to cut.  Needless to say, I've been swearing a lot today.

Honestly, this weekend has been pretty laid back.  I've been writing my report and doing final edits on my dissertation, but nothing hugely involved.  I've gotten to the point with the D paper that I'm reluctant to be much more critical for fear of over-thinking the darn thing ( Read more... )

See that number?  That's the number of words in my dissertation and that number is LESS than 15,000.  Boo-yah!

Anyhoo, report tomorrow and last proof on Sunday and I'm going to call this done.  Thank goodness.

Soooo tired in my head.  I've worked straight through today from about 10AM to 10PM with about 3 hours of break time sprinkled in there for food and sanity.  And the result?

Okay, obviously "real adult" was not the correct term to use in my last post.  I guess what I meant was that I can no longer see everything as leading to school or a degree.  I now have to live my life in the present instead of in the future.  Meanwhile, I'll still be as much of a kid as the next person.  I think I'd get terribly bored if I weren't ( Read more... )
